Well yes, if you're talking 2M, RTM, Maghribia, certainly there are none. But if you're talking movies produced in Oujdawood, then you've got it! There is a team of amateur passionates practicing and ironing their talents in Oujda. The oriental is not foreign to film, after all one of the best Moroccans films "La Symphonie Marocaine" is credited to Oujdi talent. I discovered this team yesterday, and they are showcasing their work on youtube here. The team is led by director Fouad El Bali and produced by Aloulou Karim. Their latest film is called Tayara Fel Houa". From what I've seen, the acting is still in baby steps and I am positive it will mature over time. The dialogue is mostly darija but still not natural; they should get rid of some classical arabic expressions and charge up the talk with our natural Moroccan language. This is a defect in most modern Moroccan cinema. Back to the film, the direction is not bad at all with all the proper camera angles, but they need to work on pace. Their action movie theme is usually around mafia style gangs, money, probably drugs, guns and fighting. During fighting scenes they overuse the effect of scene repetition which is dizzying for me.
Putting all the areas of improvement aside, I am impressed by these young people coming out of an area semi-isolated in Morocco, putting hands together and with the little resources available for them, they are whipping some ass in films Youtube style. This is what Morocco needs. Grassroot initiative in the arts from the street. 2M and RTM are dead.

cute :) I think the 1st trailer has too much fouad in it :) and the 2nd has waay too many gunz in it :o) but i love these local films with local darja, i'm so over it with corporate run-of-the-mill movies. i think they'll continue to make better and better films.
