Nice Songs About Henna Tradition in North African Weddings
10:04:32 AM Sunday Mar 1, 2009
My favorite part of any Moroccan wedding got to be the Henna party. It's semi-formal, it starts in the afternoon, all girls are looking great, there is so much tradition in the air, and to top it all, the grandmother, with her fantastic aura, owns the Henna ritual as she smoothly transfers the Baraka with her fingers via Henna paste on everyone's palm, babies, boys, girls, teens, young adults, singles, men and women. The henna orange-red-brownish mark certainly will not make you rich, but it does do something to your psyche. It bonds you with all these family familiar and not-so-familiar faces of family and friends. It makes you feel you are a critical part of this good time.
This song is definitely from Algeria. The singer sounds a lot like Djenet, but I'm not sure.
