I highly recommend this film.. watched it a couple weeks ago at a friend's house. The very word "Arranged" immediately comes with such strong connotations, that it is avoided by most people from cultures where arranged (or semi-arranged) marriages are still common.
Ironically, the debate surrounding "arranged" marriages seems to revolve more around the fear or belief that women do not have a choice in such relationships, and less so on whether such marriages have a higher rate of success or failure than the so-called "falling in love" route.
Clearly, all "arranged" marriages are not born equal.
Decide for yourself, watch it!
Arranged starring Zoe Lister Jones and Francis Benhamou
The film is loosely based on the experiences of Executive Producer Yuta Silverman, an Orthodox Jew who befriended a Pakistani Muslim woman through the public schools in Brooklyn. [source: IMDB]
