Sardines
05:51:47 AM Thursday Mar 5, 2009

This is kind of a long shot, but does anyone know where we can buy Moroccan sardines in the Boston area? I'd like to buy the cans that come with tomatoes and the ones with chili peppers. If I can find les boules de sardines that would be awesome.

yalla, Jah bless

ps. Adnane, I can't get image to show. can u help?

Sardines are so healthful I gotta get on a sardine diet soon. I thought you already know where to get Moroccan canned sardines? Are you talking about some specific brand? I'm sure you'll find it in Moroccans stores. Malden has like 3 or 4 Moroccan stores. There is one on Main street on the way to Bouchra. If you're looking for the Portugal, Spanish packaged cans but product of Morocco check Shaws or Whole Foods. Sometimes Super 88 has them too.

If you want to eat fresh sardines, then there is a great place in Cambridge street in Cambridge. It's a portuguese store that specializes in fresh seafood. They have Sardines fresh from the waters of Canary islands, Morocco and Portugal every Thursday. You buy the fish you want right there, and you ask them to take care of it, grill it or fry it, and they serve it to you in the eat-in place next door. It's a popular place for Moroccans.

Mahjoub, that's an interesting thing you said about Military loving Moroccan Sardines. I wouldn't be surprised given the portability of the cans.

Hey Rasta, In Minnesota you can Find them in food store in an area called international Market with all exotic items from around the world. Otherwise and this is interesting, If you know someone in the US Military (Marine or Navy) ask them to give you couple can they are supplied with Moroccan sardines in Cans just like the ones you described. It sounds like the guys and girls in the Military like them... I was surprised when I learned this....
