Almond Crescents - Ka3b Elghazal bellouz
1 c. sliced almonds (preferrably peeled almonds)
1 c. unsalted butter, room temp.
1 1/2 teaspoons orange blossom water
pinch of salt
2 c. flour
3/4 c. powdered/confectioner's sugar
2 tablespoons powdered/confectioner's sugar, plus extra for coating
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Put almonds and 2 tbspns powdered sugar into food processor, process until almonds are finely ground.
In a big bowl beat the butter and 3/4 c. pwdr sugar on med-low speed until fluffy.
Add the orange blossom water. On low speed add the flour little by little. Then add the ground almonds, and beat well.
Shape dough into crescents and arrange on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until lightly golden on the bottom. Don't let them brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for a few minutes, then coat them well in a shallow bowl of pwdr sugar. Let cool completely, then serve.
