Do you recommend Kindle? I was thinking about getting one.The one beef I have with Kindle is the lack of colors. The color technology is there, but amazon said they are not satisfied with the third-party technology, yet I heard that the real reason is that they would have to rescan everything again in color. I thought it was shortsighted they didn't scan initially in color. Hey maybe I don't know what I am talking about.
Regardless, I'm not ready to buy one "yet". Color is huge for me. Although I have a minimalistic taste, I am visual and colorful. So kindle can kiss my colorful ass for now. What I really want "technology" to provide me one of these days is a device just slightly bigger than a psp, as thin or thinner than kindle, easy on the reading eye, with HD and colors, high quality response and precision touch-screen so I can start using my fingers as a pen just like my ancient ancestors did in caves. With the cleverness of nintendo, the style of sony, the aura of nokia, the power of intel, and an open architecture and development sdk. I expect myself to use such a single hardware device to do the following:
1. draw, draw, paint, and draw
2. connect online
3. read books, magazines, newspapers and the internet
4. publish my own content (text, scribbles, doodles etc) to friends, family and others directly to their kindle or on websites.
5. watch movies
6. play games
7. chat (write, talk, hear, see and be seen)
8. record voice
10. and finally use it as a phone.
Now how freaking difficult is that to make in 2009?
I'm disappointed with the one-eyed tech giants. Nobody gets it. And yes I want it all in one single hardware. Mix it up dammitt. Mix it up right.
Oh, I totally forgot Number 11.
"To have a folding behaviour. The screen looks like a glossy sheet of plastic that can fold" Yeah, that way it can fold in half.
For me, this sculpture represents exactly what's going on in my mind with respect to my dream gadget not being there yet. The thingie on the left is trying to climb its cradle. Once it reaches the top and with a little tap on its head, it will smoothly slide down and fit softly in the cradle. But right now, thingie is still not there, and making everyone tense just by looking at it struggle.
