02:06:33 PM Monday Aug 31, 2009

Want to wish every a happy Ramadan. The days are soooo long. I usually end up losing my voice 4PM (still 3.5 hours to go!!)

Anyone has an easy msemmen recipe they can post?

Take care and 3ouqbal l3am jjay

whoa be careful with the gym during ramadan. i would avoid it completely. you'll be okay w/out gym for a couple weeks! or 4 to be precise :o)

here there is no lack of sugar. it's insane how intensely sweet the zlabiya and qalb ellouz and other sweets are.

try eating tagine lehlou - the sweet fruits cooked in syrup. you can control how much sugar you put. I'll try to post an easy recipe soon. it's very nourishing + natural sugars.

some cousins brought us chebbakiya last week from Morocco, along with some fresh Moroccan mint, which far outperforms the Algerian mint here!! I have to admit I skipped the sweets and went for the mint :)

Antr: very good advice. I started having honey and sweet at 3 in the morning, it really gives me energy particularly at the end of the day. Some days I even have enough reserves to go for a run before ftour. Not sure what happened yesterday, though. Went for a run and felt very dizzy walking back home from the gym.

Thanks Adnane for the msemmen video.

This is what I do :

After having my last bite, I take 2-3 spoons of honey and drink a lot of water.
It keeps my blood sugar up, and provide me with enough fluid to steam off
while facing Babylon.

Blessed one to you all.
